How does internet works?

 INTERNET

The internet is a global inter-connection of computer networks. People can share information and communicate from anywhere with an Internet connection.

The Internet today comprises hundreds of thousands of local area networks (LANs) worldwide, interconnected by a backbone wide area network (WAN). LANs typically operate at rates of 10 to 100 Mbps. The result is a mass of cables, computers, data centres, routers, servers, repeaters, satellites and wifi towers that allows digital information to travel around the world.

Is internet works

with satellite?

Most of the people thinks that internet works with the satellites . But that's not the truth. Internet is basically meant by two way communication whereas in satellite internet, we can only stream the data but can't upload it. satellite internet is used by TV and radio companies for broadcasting. Then how the internet works?

The answer is optic fibre cables.

What are optic fibre cables?

fiber optic cable is a network cable that contains strands of glass fibers inside an insulated casing. They're designed for long-distance, high-performance data networking, and telecommunications. Compared to wired cablesfiber optic cables provide higher bandwidth and transmit data over longer distances.

Source of internet ?

The whole world uses internet .we download data ,we upload data ,we stream youtube videos and song directly on our devices but from where this data is coming from? Where is the whole internet's data stored?

The information on the Internet is stored on the hard drives of web servers all over the world. Web servers are, at heart, ordinary computers just like yours.

Servers are often organized into vast networking hubs, buildings filled with numerous racks of computers. These racks are often connected to each other as well as the Internet, so they can exchange, process, and store more data. These databases store an obscene amount of data, thousands of encyclopedias worth, easily. To summarize, information present on the Internet is stored where the server for that particular website’s or application’s server is located. In order to access data not stored on a personal computer, web browsers are needed.

What does a cell tower do?

Cell phones have an in-built antenna which is used to send packets of digital information back and forth with cell-phone towers via radio waves. ... A router directs each packet to its destination and also provides a wireless access point to the Internet.

Why we have to pay for using internet?

If internet is free then why we have to pay for using the internet. The reason behind this is the monetary cost of maintaining the pipes and infrastructure that keep the internet running.

For this you pay an Internet Service Provider (ISP), a monthly fee to keep you connected to the entire internet.
